IHOP reveals what "B" stands for in IHOb name change

At least one IHOP restaurant - fittingly in Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard - is changing its signage to IHOb on Monday, management said. According to CNN, IHOP is temporarily changing their name in a marketing campaign. You can get a freakin burger everywhere.

If IHOP had simply announced that it was debuting a new line of hamburgers, would you have even noticed?

The fast-food chain Wendy's has become notorious for its sassy social media presence in the a year ago, with tweets targeting both McDonald's and Burger King.

"We're flippin' from pancakes, pancakes, pancakes to burgers, burgers, burgers", read the Instagram caption posted on the morning of June 11.

Wendy's wasn't done after that. "Like that, but our cheeseburgers are still better".

The change, however, was met with various reactions from users on Twitter.

IHOP/IHOb responded to the move with "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". "They had fun for a week trying to figure it out".

The pancake chain has been coy about whether the name flip is permanent, saying Monday that it was "for the time being".

That's actually too bad because it's an wonderful name. "I work at IHOP", tweeted an employee last week.

It is not yet known how drastic of a change the shift from pancakes to burgers will be.
