Fortnite on Switch won't work with Epic accounts used on PS4

Will Switch be your main platform for Fortnite now that you can play it there?

Finding people to fill the 100 needed for each match would be a tall order for a game that wasn't as popular as Fortnite. In the meantime, you could just avoid playing Fortnite on Sony's console and switch to something else.

During Nintendo's E3 2018 press conference it was revealed that Fortnite: Battle Royale was heading to the Switch, and has been released today.

If you do try this, an error message from Epic Games pops up, explaining: "This Fortnite account is associated with a platform which does not allow it to operate on Switch". Curiously, this doesn't happen when using an Epic account from Xbox One or PC.

If you have ever used your account on your PS4 to play Fortnite or downloaded the PS Plus exclusive items, then your account is effectively locked from ever being used on another system other than PC.

Link your Switch account to an Epic Games account. To make matters worst, unlinking your Epic Games account to your PlayStation account doesn't seem to solve the issue either.
