Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav made a flurry of records in the first ODI of the three-match series against England.

After winning the T20I series against England, India is all set to start the ODI series against the Englishmen.

Hales averaged 48 as England lost their Twenty20 series against India 2-1.

This unheralded member of the India side was all but unplayable as England slipped and stuttered to a way below par 268 all out on the Nottingham ground where they flayed Australia to all parts only last month.

Ben Stokes (50) and Jos Buttler (53) prevented complete collapse during a fifth-wicket stand of 93 but they too fell to Yadav.

His injury has now eased the selection headache for the England management but they might have to make a tough call ahead of the second ODI between the top-two ranked sides, which will take place at Lord's on Saturday.

"There are signs of Joe really getting to grips with the Test match team as a captain, and I think any experience like he has had over the past few days will definitely help him", Farbrace said.

When Kuldeep took five wickets in the first Twenty20 global at Old Trafford England called for their old "Merlyn" bowling machine in a bid to work out how to handle this most unusual angle of attack.

United Kingdom calls for close economic ties in Brexit white paper
Mr Trump said ahead of his visit that he could meet Boris Johnson, who resigned earlier this week over Mrs May's Brexit plan. The British proposals on customs, which are complex and untested, are also likely to run into trouble in Brussels.

Meanwhile Kohli accepted there was a chance both Kuldeep and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal could force their way into India's squad for the five-Test campaign in England that follows this series. Looking at the England batsmen struggling we might be tempted to do that. But it did little to slow India down as they passed 100 with Rohit and Virat Kohli taking on England.

England Assistant coach Paul Farbrace has said that Joe Root will get better at captaincy by learning from Eoin Morgan. "Kuldeep had a pretty good day at the office". He also hoped that his team improves against spin which has been a challenge. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Jason Roy, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow in his first two overs.

But the introduction of Kuldeep, in his 21st match at this level, changed the course of the innings. He is expected to be out of action for three or four weeks and will not, therefore, feature for England in the rest of the series.

Morgan (19) then carelessly chipped Chahal to midwicket.

Stokes and Buttler staunched the flow of wickets without breaking the shackles.

But one ball after reaching his fifty, the left-hander tried to reverse sweep Kuldeep only for debutant Siddarth Kaul to hold an excellent catch. England, on the other hand, will run up a lead of 10 points at the top of the table if they win by the same margin, the ICC said in a release.

The devastating Sharma rattled off a century with a stunning six only after seeing Jason Roy drop an extremely hard chance when the opener was on 92.
