An NBC reporter claimed this week that the White House had been negotiating Justice Kennedy's retirement with him for several months in exchange for a promise Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who sits on the federal appeals court in D.C., would fill his seat.

"Yale Law School students and faculty wrote and signed an open letter to the dean Tuesday, criticizing Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court and saying that 'people will die if he is confirmed, '" Kyle Perisic wrote in a dispatch distributed by The Daily Caller News Foundation. Roe vs. Wade is said to be in danger because of Kavanaugh's appointment.

"Tammy Baldwin's vow to obstruct Judge Kavanaugh shows that she'd rather stand with her Washington party bosses than do her job to defend the Constitution", National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Calvin Moore said in a statement.

"His nomination is not an interesting intellectual exercise to be debated amongst classmates and scholars in seminar", the letter declared.

Wimbledon: Serena Williams one match from finals after win

"[.] Please use your authority and platform to expose the stakes of this moment and the threat that Judge Kavanaugh poses". Restrictions are so tight in some states that more women are turning to self-induced abortions. Trump's nomination of Judge Kavanaugh is a reliable way to fulfill his oath. It also described a recent ruling in which Kavanaugh denied a detained immigrant's right to an abortion.

Members of the Yale Law community also recalled a 2015 dissent in which Kavanaugh maintained that Obamacare's mandate on contraceptives "violated the rights of religious organizations, even though those organizations were granted an accommodation that allowed them to opt out of providing contraceptive coverage".

While Baldwin's decision to vote against Kavanaugh isn't a surprise, her statement is noteworthy because she is the second Democrat up for re-election this year from a state President Donald Trump won in the 2016 election to come out against the Supreme Court nominee.
