Minecraft movie delayed after change of director

In his place, Warner Bros. has reportedly chosen Aaron and Adam Nee (Band of Robbers) to write a new script and direct the film.

At the time, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney was attached to write and direct the movie, but he has since dropped the project altogether. He, along with Jason Fuchs, had written the screenplay's previous draft.

This also means that the May 24, 2019 date has been pushed back, although a new release date has not yet been announced.

Speaking of the planned release date to The Wrap, McElhenney said: 'No, that is not happening'.
