The video shows salon employees striking one woman with a broomstick until she's able to flee out the front door.
The video was shared on Friday (Aug 3) by a woman named Mercy Maduka, who was at the New Red Apple Nails on East Flatbush's Nostrand Avenue when the attack happened around 9:30 pm EST.
Demonstrators angrily chanted, "shut them down", "f-k the police", "no nails, no toes, these racist shops have got to go" and "where is ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement)", implying that the salon's Asian employees might be undocumented immigrants. "They can not survive and we can not feed them", Johnson said at the protest, according to a Facebook video. Customer Christina Thomas, 21, told police that Zheng repeatedly hit her in the back with the broom, causing her to suffer a laceration to the neck, and substantial pain to the back.
It wasn't immediately clear if the two salons are related.
