West Hollywood City Council Considers Axing Trump's Walk of Fame Star

The vote was largely symbolic, simply making a request of the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the marker, which was unveiled in 2007.

The city of West Hollywood has voted unanimously in favor of removing President Donald Trump's star at the Walk of Fame, citing Russiagate allegations as well as his take on women, immigration and transgender soldiers.

"This is an opportunity for decision-makers to take a stand on their values in support of women", the Council's report reads.

The council met on Monday night (US time) to consider the resolution, the official language of which urged for the star's removal on the basis of the President's repeatedly proven attitudes towards women.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has said in the past that it would never remove stars because of a backlash. During the meeting, West Hollywood Mayor was quoted by the Washington Times the resolution "is not because of his conservative politics or his conservative policies". The Chamber refused to remove Bill Cosby's star from the walk, and the various stars embroiled in the #MeToo movement who have stars all remain fixtures on the walk.

It's unclear whether Clay has a lawyer.

Trump's star was dedicated in recognition of his work on NBC's "The Apprentice".

Clay could face up to three years in jail if convicted.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested over the latest incident and charged with one felony count of vandalism.
