Retired teacher thought Keith Urban was broke, bought him snacks

A woman who thought she was helping a down-and-out man pay for his food at a bowser in the United States ended up footing the bill for country music star Keith Urban.

On Friday, retired teacher Ruth Reed was standing in line at a Wawa in Medford, New Jersey, when a male customer asked a fellow patron if she had any cash. This was remarkable to Reed because the man looked just like Australian country singer Keith Urban. "Do people ever tell you that you look like Keith Urban?' And he said, 'I am Keith Urban, ' and I said, 'No you're not really?"

Reed says Urban stuck 5 dollars in the donation box at the register and happily took this picture with her.

"Then, he asked a young lady for $5 and I thought, 'This is it.' So I said, 'No I'll get it'".

"Three years ago, I made a resolution to treat somebody at Wawa once a week", she said.

Reed admits she took some convincing.

Urban, who was in the area for his concert in Camden, popped up at the convenience store and a customer managed to grab a selfie with him and loan him a few bucks.

Reed told CBS Philly she thought he looked familiar but did not immediately recognize him.

"And I just fell apart, fell apart and he was gracious".

Reed said she hopes the story inspires others to do good deeds for one another.

"When he told me who he was, I didn't believe him!" "I asked where Nicole was and who was the lady". Still, she managed to snap a photo with Urban.
