Mobile Unveils 'Essentials' Unlimited Plan For Customers On A Budget

T-Mobile's unlimited plans may or may not be simpler than what Verizon and AT&T are offering.

The pricing breaks down as follows: The first line on T-Mobile Essentials costs $60 per month, while the second costs $30.

T-Mobile just added a third unlimited data plan for your iPhone or Android. "During times and places with heavy network demand, Essentials customers may notice slower speeds than other customers", T-Mobile warned in a statement.

T-Mobile's Essentials plan will be available nationwide starting August 10. Essentials includes unlimited talk, text, and 2G data when roaming, but only in Canada and Mexico.

The plan still comes with the ability to turn your phone into a mobile WiFi hotspot, but that is limited to 3G speeds. Both T-Mobile One at $70 a month and One Plus at $80 a month aren't subject to slowdowns until after 50 GB of data.

The savings get a little better when you add two lines of Essentials, which costs $90 ($106 with the nationwide average tax).

Google Pixel 3 XL live pictures and unboxing video emerge
There is a mint green power button on this Pixel 3 XL as well, which differs from the orange button on the two-tone Pixel 2 XL. The display - no size listed - has a resolution of 1440×2960 (shakes fist at notch) with a pixel density of 494pixels per inch.

Although it comes with unlimited services, the Essentials plan is stripped down compared to numerous other plans you'd find at T-Mobile and other carriers.

"The Un-carrier wants to make it easy", CEO John Legere said in a press release.

T-Mobile's LTE network has tripled in size over the last three years and now reaches almost every American! The Essentials plan is created to save the carrier money and confuse customers in the process. If you add a 2nd line, that'll be an extra $30/mo. Oftentimes, the only way to find out what you'd actually be paying in taxes and fees is to start the application process for a new line, which requires proof of residency and is therefore hard to do.

As T-Mobile sees it, not all of its users need the frills and benefits of its One or One Plus plans. T-Mobile just made its selection of plans more confusing by introducing Essentials, bringing the total number of plans up to three (Essentials, ONE and ONE Plus).

T-Mobile One Plus International, finally, is also an upgrade over ONE.
