Maurizio Sarri: 'I must adapt to Chelsea'

Maurizio Sarri insists that it will take three months for his Chelsea team reaches their potential under his new management but, in the meantime, N'Golo Kante, Jorginho and Pedro ensured the veteran Italian made an impressive and winning start to Premier League life.

"Thibaut is such a great goalkeeper and he did his best at Chelsea to bring titles and trophies, so it is not a great feeling to lose such a player", he said.

World Cup victor Kante's untidy 34th-minute volley and Jorginho's audacious penalty on the stroke of halftime put Chelsea in control before Pedro wrapped up the points in the closing stages. Sarri had said that Chelsea were overthinking their play at times against Manchester City when they were well beaten in the Community Shield last week, but that was the football that Sarri's four weeks in charge have led up to and Jorginho was unsurprisingly involved.

A strike from World Cup victor N'Golo Kante, Jorginho's penalty on debut and a late goal for Pedro were enough to hand Maurizio Sarri a first win in the Premier League.

"We are not a physical team so for 20 minutes we were in trouble but we did very well", Sarri said.

"The Bale I've met is happy and committed to the club. They had five chances and scored three goals", Wagner told reporters. "We moved the ball well and to have a good bench is always good".

For the third goal, Hazard sliced through Huddersfield's defence down the middle before setting up Pedro, who drove home a low angled shot into the bottom corner.

"We had a very good first half, but we know that Chelsea, when you face a team like this, they are very clinical", Mounie said.

Jorginho added a second from the penalty spot, seemingly taking over the duties from the misfiring Alvaro Morata, and he took his spot-kick with the confidence of a big-money signing. He marked his Premier League debut with a very cheeky penalty past Ben Hamer to make it 2-0 at half-time. "The ref needs to explain that to us because I don't understand why (it was not retaken)".
