Manchester City cruise past Fulham at the Etihad Stadium

Bottom line: Manchester City are achieving goals on and off the pitch.

Manchester City might just set a record for having the oldest mascots in Premier League history when they take on Fulham on Saturday.

The ball fell kindly for David Silva who controlled it high on his chest - prompting Fulham claims for handball - before burying it in the roof of the net from close range.

The German struck within two minutes of his first league start of the season as the Cottagers were outgunned at the Etihad Stadium.

Both players had very different struggles despite City's success last season.

Although City eased to victory against Fulham thanks to goals from Leroy Sane, David Silva and Raheem Sterling, Guardiola was unimpressed with certain aspects of his side's showing and cited a poor miss from the otherwise exceptional Bernardo Silva as a source of frustration.

Bernardo Silva believes his stunning start to the 2018/19 campaign with Manchester City is all thanks to second season syndrome.

David Silva Comments On Manchester City Future

He finished good the first half and the second half started a little bit uncomfortable.

Do you think Silva has been one of the best players in England over the past decade? "That's what happens when you play against teams like this", said Bettinelli, fresh from his first England senior global squad call-up. Silva's team-mates would steal his clothes while he showered, they would draw on his trainers and then hang them from the ceiling by their laces.

"When a guy has a simple ball but they make an extra pass, an extra dodge and they miss the pass, I'm angry, I'm upset with my players", said Guardiola. The player joined the Cityzens from AS Monaco last summer and probably didn't play as many minutes as he thought he would have last season.

"We've talked about that many times, and I will show them that we can improve".

"Our journey is not complete and we have more targets to fulfil".

The only slight disappointment for Guardiola was that his side squandered so many chances and Sergio Aguero will require assessment before Wednesday's Champions League tie against Lyon about being substituted early in the second half with a sore ankle.

"They didn't come here to defend and play long balls, they came here to play their own game".
