Fossil's first smartwatch based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform was launched today as the Fossil Sport, boasting an ultra-lightweight design and a wide range of color choices, some of which are now available for purchase online from the watchmaker's official website. Announced this September, the Wear 3100's biggest improvement over 2016's Wear 2100 is vastly improved battery life. There's NFC for Google Pay, GPS, 5 ATM water resistance, a heart-rate monitor and an altimeter.

Unfortunately, Fossil is oddly cryptic about things like display size and resolution, although we do know you can choose from 41 and 43 mm cases, six colorways (gray, blush, red, light blue, neon, and black), and "endless" strap options in 18 and 22 mm sizes. The fitness-oriented Wear OS device will run the latest version of Wear OS with a revamped fitness and navigation UI.

Fossil says the watch's 350mAh battery will last upwards of 24 hours on a single charge, and there's even a new battery saver mode that will supposedly eke out two extra days of battery life.

The video below, showing the Fossil Sport in action on people's wrists, doesn't show off anything surprising.

The Fossil Sport will retail for $255 and will be available at retail stores around the world starting November 12th. But the Fossil Sport at least sounds like it's not outrageously priced.
