Elton John's Tampa show postponed due to ear infection

Elton John is now on his farewell tour, "Farewell Yellow Brick Road", across the world.

Also on Tuesday evening, John's scheduled concert for Wednesday at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, was cancelled.

John, the statement said, needs a couple of extra days to allow the infection to clear up so he can hear properly. As we have stated from the outset, tonight's show was canceled due to an ear infection.

The cancellation of Tuesday's performance was announced by the Orlando, Florida, venue, Amway Center, almost half an hour after the sold-out show was slated to start.

Amalie Arena officials in a news release said tickets purchased for the original show are valid for the rescheduled date. "There was that gasp". People got up and started filing out.
