Amazon has sold more than 100 million Alexa devices

Google significantly expanded its Google Assistant offerings in 2018, bringing the voice-activated assistant to new regions and languages.

Thanks to a report from The Verge, we also have really recent numbers for Alexa. But most importantly, the company now has some serious bragging rights to back up its CES domination: Google Assistant is now on 1 billion devices, according to the company. Amazon didn't reveal any other figures, but this is still enough to promote the epic rise of smart speakers, as well as smart homes in the current tech space. Faltering sales in China and questions about future iPhone shipments have bludgeoned Apple stock, sending it down about 6% to start the year.
