Murray will face Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round of the Australian Open on Monday before deciding the best next course of action for his injured right hip.

Bautista Agut is known for his baseline style, which could test Murray's hip to its limit.

The Spaniard explained that it will be a mammoth loss for the world of tennis but he also seems to have great consciousness for Murray's injury.

Murray revealed on Friday in an emotional press conference ahead of the Australian Open that his time as a professional sportsman was coming to an end, revealing that a hip injury which has plagued him since 2017 is showing no signs of recovery. "I watched basically the entire game a couple years ago", Federer said.

"I said to my team, 'Look, I think I can kind of get through this until Wimbledon.' That was where I'd like to stop playing".

"But being honest, when somebody like him, that he achieved nearly everything in his tennis career, is suffering like he's doing for such a long time already ... probably he does the right thing for his mental health".
