Introduced in Season 2 of The Walking Dead, Michonne, known for her badass sword and dreads, proved to be an invaluable ally to Rick and his band of surviving humans.

Gurira joined AMC's horror drama in Season 3 and has become one of the show's breakout stars, rising to the second-billed spot behind Norman Reedus after Lincoln and Cohan left.

She's since acted in a number of high-profile roles outside the dust-strewn wastes of the zombie-plagued apocalypse, including 2018 blockbusters Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

The second half of season 9 of the zombie drama will begin airing on February 10.

Per the shocking development, Gurira will return as the katana-wielding Michonne for Season 10 in just a few episodes that will be dispersed throughout the season.

He went off, spouting his disapproval of the constant reporting and querying of him and those around him about his free agency. He chose to finally speak following the Golden State Warriors' 141-102 win over the San Antonio Spurs, and it didn't go well.

Mere months after Andrew Lincoln parted ways with AMC's The Walking Dead, Danai Gurira has announced that she plans to do the same, writes The Hollywood Reporter.

"She has been very vocal about saying that she loves the show". Gurira's new deal with AMC will definitely make it easier for the actress to pursue other ventures while having the option to return and portray the popular character that opened so many doors for her career. It's time once again to reflect upon the characters that we've loved - OK, in some cases, at best kinda put up with - and lost.

I don't know how surprising this news is, really. Both of the Rick and Michonne characters are huge focusing points of Robert Kirkman's original source material, which the show is based on.

The exodus continues: Danai Gurira is leaving The Walking Dead. She's also set to star in Godzilla vs Kong in 2020.
