EAT el-Born will make its first appearance in front of the world's media at the Volkswagen Group night, before its public debut at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show.
Its name was based on the most iconic neighbourhood of Barcelona, which was said to be a source of inspiration for the designers. Volkswagen will manufacture the el-Born for SEAT at the Zwickau plant in Germany.
"Mobility is evolving and with it, the cars we drive".
SEAT's concept auto answers the many questions of what future mobility will look like with a vehicle that still expresses the brand's core values of performance, design and technology. The engineering and powertrain of the two compact models are expected to be closely aligned, with a range of power outputs offered. The vehicle's 62 kWh battery pack is compatible with supercharging up to 100kW DC, and can be charged up to 80 percent in 47 minutes.
If you think it looks familiar to VW's ID hatch, then we'd agree with you.
The design features several streamlined areas to boost aerodynamic efficiency, including the Seat logo positioned flush on the front bodywork of the vehicle, above small cooling vents that provide air to the battery pack.

And their first take at the electric vehicle market is this, the el-Born. "We have to make customers fall in love with the idea of the electric auto". An "air curtain" has been incorporated into the design, while the 20in wheels not only give aero benefits, but channel cool air to the brakes, and hot air away from them.
At the rear of the vehicle a double layer spoiler ensures that air flow remains smooth and turbulence is minimised.
According to the Spaniards, the el-Born is fitted with Level 2 autonomous systems and fully connected.
Prices for the vehicle are expected to be released next week at the VW Group event ahead of its unveiling in Geneva.
Internally, the Seat El-Born doesn't look anything like a concept, with a large central display and a digital driver display, it again looks like a production-ready model.
