Realme 3 with 6.2-inch HD+ display & MediaTek Helio P70 SoC Launched

Only days after Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7-series in India, Realme launched the Realme 3 smartphone to heat up the competition in the sub-Rs 10,000 smartphone price range.

The Realme 3 variants such as 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage are respectively priced at Rs. 8,999 (~$127) and Rs. 10,999 ($155). At the end of the announcement there was a surprise for all Realme fans - another phone, called Realme 3 Pro, is arriving in April. A launch event was scheduled for today, and the Realme 3 was announced, as promised.

Realme 3 features a stylish diamond-cut design with 3D gradient finish on the back and the display has a tiny waterdrop-style notch. The smartphone will be available exclusively from Flipkart and the official Realme website and will go on sale for the first time at 12pm (Noon) IST on March 12, 2019.

The Realme 3 has received many changes compared to its predecessor Realme 2.

The Realme 3 is the first Realme smartphone from the brand, which will offer a new set of features like app drawer, smart assistant, Motorbike Mode, Gamespace, and No Boundary concept. It's not like the Realme 3 has no bezels, but is able to restrict it to around 2mm in size.

Since the current Realme 3 has a Mediatek chipset, we expect the Pro version to come with Snapdragon 670/675 and 6 GB RAM. Aside from the alignment of the rear cameras and the LED flash, the shape of the fingerprint sensor is also different.

Realme has also confirmed Realme 3 will be powered by MediaTek Helio P70 processor, the same chipset that powers the company's Realme U1. The Realme 3 also offers microSD expansion as well (up to 256GB). Realme 3 runs on Android 9.0 Pie with the company's Color OS 6 skin loaded on top. Camera features include PDAF, Nightscape mode, Hybrid HDR, Chroma Boost, Portrait Mode, and scene recognition among others. When it comes to shooting selfies, the Realme 3 feature a 13-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

In optics, the phone has a dual camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary camera (f/1.8 aperture) and a 2MP depth sensing secondary camera.

The Realme 3 has a 4,230mAh battery to its disposal and could optimally power you through a day's worth of medium to heavy usage pattern.
