Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will welcome visitors beginning May 31 at Disneyland Park in California and August 29 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

If you're staying at any of the three Disneyland Resort hotels, you will receive a designated reservation-one per guest-to access the new land during your stay (if it falls during these dates), and valid theme park admission is required.

The parks will open earlier than expected.

"In this all-new environment, guests can make choices about their experience that could impact their adventures as they travel throughout the land by using the Play Disney Parks mobile app in a whole new way".

There's still no word on how the show will deal with the character of Fred Andrews moving forward now that Perry has passed away. He is a good man, a good soul, conscientious, a gentleman, a dear friend of our family, of the "Live" family".

If that footage seems to lean heavily on the Smuggler's Run attraction, which puts visitors in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon for a video game-inspired motion simulator, that's because it will be the only major ride running when Galaxy' Edge opens. The highly anticipated theme park is one of the biggest parks Disney has ever done, an attempt to make an immersive Star Wars experience for attendees. Today, the official Disney Parks blog revealed the California-based attraction would open May 31 while the Florida-based one wouldn't open its proverbial doors until August 29.

Two rides, Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance, are being built at Black Spire Outpost, the village in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

"Galaxy's Edge" brings to life a planet called Batuu that has never been seen in the "Star Wars" movies or TV shows that began with the original 1977 film. (Here's a sneak peek at some of those cocktails.) Longtime Disneyland fans will recognize the club's DJ: He's Rex, the droid created for the classic attraction Star Tours, and he'll be spinning custom cantina tunes composed by songwriters from around the world.

At that time, guests will be immersed in the planet Batuu, where they can interact with odd characters, shop and dine at interplanetary hot spots, and partake in a new ride called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
