Teddy Bridgewater to re-sign with the Saints

Bridgewater, 26, agreed to a one-year $7.5 million deal that is worth up to $12.5 million with incentives, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's part of the reason why the signal caller met with the Miami Dolphins when it had previously been assumed he would return to the Saints.

Bridgewater was the last pick of the first round in the 2014 NFL Draft. But he ultimately chose to stay put in New Orleans, where he spent last season after the Saints traded a third-round pick to acquire him and a sixth-rounder from the New York Jets.

The Saints restructured Brees' contract Thursday in hopes of creating room under the salary cap to re-sign Bridgewater.
