"This was purely a football decision". But when Cleveland general manager John Dorsey reached out to Gettleman last Tuesday, it set in motion a long day of negotiations that resulted in each side receiving what it was seeking in a trade.

Giants G.M. Dave Gettleman, who said on multiple occasions that the Giants didn't sign receiver Odell Beckham a long-term deal in order to trade him, picked up the phone after learned about Buffalo's failed quest for Brown and called Beane about Beckham, according to Peter King of Football Morning in America.

Gettleman did not shop the three-time Pro Bowler because he felt doing that would not give him the upper hand in trade talks. "At the end of the day, you have to say, "Gettleman is out of his mind" or 'he knows what he is talking about when he evaluates players.' That's really where it's at".

"I completely understand why people are going to debate the merits of this deal, because draft picks are involved".

Facebook scrubs 1.5m Christchurch attack videos but criticism goes viral
The cowardly attack on two mosques in Christchurch during Friday prayers was the deadliest mass shooting in New Zealand's history. In the first 24 hours after the shooting, Facebook removed about 1.5 million versions of the attack video.

After the past season, NY did not franchise-tag leading tackler Landon Collins - Gettleman said teams called at the trading deadline a year ago to ask about acquiring Collins, but no one offered enough; traded sacks leader Olivier Vernon to Cleveland for Zeitler; made the Beckham deal; and stuck with Manning, who got a $5 million roster bonus this week.

"We have positions to address. As it turns out, the fact that he was signed for five more years made him very attractive and enabled us to get legitimate value". We did not enter this decision to trade Odell lightly.

"Trust me, we have a plan", he said. "A struggling team that I'll improve and if I move this far, I'll be the star and maybe win a Super Bowl with you".

And with them, Gettleman will continue to build the Giants' roster.
