Thankfully the goalkeeper, on loan at Napoli from Premier League outfit Arsenal, seemed to wave at the crowd as he was taken off. Alex Meret came on to replace Ospina before the break.

Ospina was rushed to hospital and model wife Jesica is reportedly by his side as he begins his recovery after undergoing a CT scan.

The original incident occurred early on in the match when he dived out to meet a low cross and collided with Udinese's Argentinean striker Ignacio Pussetto in the seventh minute.

The Colombian received treatment and continued to play, but collapsed shortly before half-time and was stretchered off before being taken to hospital for tests.

The ex-Nice star joined the Serie A side on loan from Arsenal last summer after the Gunners had signed Bayer Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno.

Udinese responded in impressive fashion as Kevin Lasagnas strike got them back in the game on the half-hour before Seko Fofana drove a finish past Ospina to draw the visitors level. Later goals from Arkadiusz Milik and Dries Mertens gave Napoli a 4-2 win.
