Juventus fell to their first Serie A defeat of the season on Sunday as Genoa ran out 2-0 winners days after the Turin club's Champions League heroics against Atletico Madrid.

Following his midweek heroics against Atletico Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo was left out of the squad entirely by boss Massimiliano Allegri for the first time this season when the Portuguese global has been available.

In an interview following the hat-trick, Ronaldo claimed that "this is why they (Juventus) brought me here", and it seems Allegri wants him to focus on the Champions League.

Stefano Sturaro put the home side in front in the second half before fellow substitute Goran Pandev secured the win with 10 minutes left.

But despite the defeat, their first in the league this season, Massimiliano Allegri's men remain 15 points clear at the top of the table and are streaking to an eighth straight Scudetto, with three domestic records within their sights.

I expected a different Juventus.
